Frequently Asked Questions

A normal blood pressure reading is less than 120 mmHg systolic and less than 80 mmHg diastolic, written as 120/80 mmHg. Readings consistently above this level may indicate elevated blood pressure or hypertension.
Systolic pressure (top number) measures the force your heart exerts on artery walls when it beats. Diastolic pressure (bottom number) measures the force when your heart rests between beats. Both numbers are important for assessing cardiovascular health.
High blood pressure (Stage 1) starts at 130/80 mmHg. Stage 2 is 140/90 mmHg or higher. A hypertensive crisis occurs when readings exceed 180/120 mmHg, which requires immediate medical attention.
For general monitoring, check your blood pressure at the same time each day, ideally in the morning before medication. If you have hypertension, your doctor may recommend checking it twice daily. This tracker stores your last 10 readings.
