Custom Study Session Timer

Our study timer helps you structure your study sessions with customizable study and break intervals. Set your preferred durations and number of sessions, then let the timer guide you through focused study periods followed by refreshing breaks.

How to Use the Study Timer

Configure your study duration (how long each study session lasts), break duration (how long each break lasts), and the number of sessions you want to complete. Click Start to begin. The timer alternates between study and break periods automatically, playing an audio alert each time a phase ends.

The Pomodoro Technique

The popular Pomodoro Technique uses 25-minute study sessions followed by 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15-30 minute break after every 4 sessions. Our timer defaults to this pattern but you can customize it to fit your personal study style.

Why Timed Study Sessions Work

Research shows that time-boxed study sessions improve focus and reduce mental fatigue. Knowing there is a break coming helps you maintain concentration. Regular breaks also give your brain time to consolidate information, improving long-term retention.

Tips for Effective Study Sessions

During study periods, eliminate distractions by silencing your phone and closing unrelated tabs. Use breaks to stand up, stretch, or get water. Avoid checking social media during breaks as it can break your focus. After completing all sessions, take a longer break of 20-30 minutes.
