Date Difference Calculator — Days Between Dates

To calculate the number of days between two dates, subtract the earlier date from the later date. This gives you the difference in milliseconds, which you then convert to days by dividing by the number of milliseconds in a day (86,400,000). Working days (weekdays) exclude Saturdays and Sundays. To count them, you need to go through each day between the two dates and check if it falls on a Monday through Friday. On average, there are about 260-261 working days per year. Our calculator counts both weekdays and weekend days so you can easily see the breakdown.

Counting months between dates is more complex because months have different lengths (28-31 days). The standard approach is to count complete calendar months between the two dates. For example, from January 15 to March 15 is exactly 2 months, even though the number of days may vary depending on February's length.
